Chinese New Year has just passed few days ago. I've visited Penang last weekend just right before the Chinese New Year end. So I can still manage to receive angpow XD
Before I arrived in Penang, Mr. Cool has planned to go Kek Lok Si Temple, together with Mother Cool. However, on the day before my eyes were red so I went to see doctor when I arrived in Penang (yea yea the doctor in Penang is better, or more handsome maybe? haha). So, we have to change the plan because I need to protect my eye from the smoke from incense stick in the temple. I bet his mother must be disappointed..
So, away from Kek Lo Si, we went to my favourite stall in Penang - Wanton noodles from Chulia Street for the night. I will share it another day when I am free...
Oh ya, back to the main topic, I've been talking too much!
Before I left Penang, Mother Cool has passed me two Turtle Bun.
Well, I've been living for such long and I've never know such thing. One of my friend had just share me with her turtle bun made from her mum but it was without turtle head (just a oval shaped red bun).
And this is what Mother Cook gave me
Super cute right?? Seriously I have no idea such thing existence for praying. The bun is even made with head and eyes, and also the small round cute hand.
One of the turtle bun is come with Chinese word '发', (pronounce as "fa" in mandarin, or in Hokkien called "Huat"), which means prosperity. Chinese people tends to believe this will bring good to them (hmm...should be us) all over the year.
Well, I will try to eat this two cute turtle by myself so all the prosperity will come to me haha,
Ang Pow: also known as red packet/ red envelope. In Malaysia, unmarried person will be able to receive from elders as a gift and it is considered as auspicious. The red pocket contains money so when we were young we always looking forward to celebrate Chinese New Year. When I get older, I knew that in Taiwan and China, youngsters like me needs to give ang pow to those who are younger, and also parents when ones started to work. I'm so glad that I am a Malaysians so even I work, I don't have to give ang pow ti people.
